Unity Expands Ad Quality Tools with Free Standalone SDK
Unity (NYSE: U), the leading platform for creating games and interactive experiences, has made its Ad Quality tool broadly available as a free, standalone SDK for all publishers, no matter the mediation platform. The move underscores Unity’s focus on helping developers protect player experience while maintaining revenue and brand safety.
Ad Quality allows developers to monitor the ads shown in their games, providing visibility into ad duration, escape rates, and revenue impact per creative. The tool works across 25+ ad networks, giving studios the data needed to ensure ads complement gameplay rather than disrupt it.
“Player experience is paramount to our success, and the quality of the ads shown in our games is a critical part of that,” said Yi Gong, VP of Growth at Tilting Point. “Unity’s Ad Quality helps us understand which ads appear and ensures our blocklist works in our favor, supporting a positive player journey.”
Survey data from Unity highlights the stakes: 44% of players would likely stop playing a mobile game due to a poor ad experience, and 47% might uninstall a game altogether because of low-quality ads. With Ad Quality, developers gain insights to protect player experience, retain users, and preserve the integrity of their games.
Upcoming enhancements to the tool include AI-powered tagging of problematic content, custom insights reporting for individual studios, and a universal creative ID for improved cross-network tracking.
“Creating great content and acquiring players takes real effort, and developers should be able to retain that value,” said Felix Thé, SVP of Product and Technology, Grow at Unity. “With Ad Quality now free and available across any mediation provider, we’re helping studios protect their games, build trust, and let players enjoy gaming without worrying about ad safety.”
