Delfi Latvia Faces €200K Commercial Dispute, No Impact on Operations

Baltic media giant Ekspress Grupp has confirmed that its Latvian subsidiary, Delfi, is involved in a commercial dispute with SIA Ekis & Co-Positioning and Consulting over invoicing for advertising services on news portal LA.lv.

The claim totals €200,000, but Ekspress Grupp emphasizes that this is a standard contractual disagreement, not an insolvency issue. Delfi has raised questions regarding the calculation methods used in the disputed invoices and is seeking verification through proper legal channels.

“This matter does not affect Delfi Latvia’s daily operations or the financial position of the broader Ekspress Grupp,” the company said. Delfi remains fully operational and continues fulfilling all contractual obligations, including state-funded media projects.

For context, Delfi Latvia generated €5.5 million in revenue in 2024 with a profit of €594,281, making it a significant player in the Baltic media market. The management team is taking all appropriate legal steps to resolve the dispute efficiently.

This case highlights the routine nature of commercial disputes in digital advertising, even among established media organizations, and underscores the importance of robust invoicing and contract verification processes.
