The entrepreneurs behind MoPub and MAX, two landmark mobile advertising platforms, are back with CloudX, a new AI-native platform designed to modernize mobile monetization for publishers. The launch comes alongside a $30 million Series A led by Addition, with DST Global, Terrain, ENIAC, Javelin, and Breakpoint Capital also participating.
CloudX aims to tackle a long-standing problem: while mobile advertising has embraced AI, much of the supply-side infrastructure remains static and outdated. The platform leverages AI agents, intelligent automation, and adaptive optimization to give publishers more control, transparency, and performance in an increasingly AI-driven ecosystem.
Reimagining Mobile Monetization
Jim Payne, CloudX CEO and co-founder, highlighted the need for a fundamental rebuild of mobile advertising infrastructure:
“AI is rewriting how mobile advertising functions, but most of the infrastructure supporting it hasn’t evolved. CloudX brings transparency, intelligent automation, and adaptive optimization to the supply side so publishers can finally operate on equal footing.”
Joined by Dan Sack and other veterans from the original MoPub and MAX teams, Payne is reassembling the innovators who defined programmatic mobile monetization, now refocused on AI-native supply-side architecture.
At its core, CloudX uses a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to underpin every auction and transaction, delivering verifiable transparency, data integrity, and a secure framework for AI agents to transact and optimize in real time. This approach promises immediate improvements in publisher yield while preparing for next-generation generative environments in mobile ad tech.
Early Adoption and Industry Support
CloudX is currently available to mobile publishers and will launch with partners including Meta, Liftoff, and Magnite, with broader access planned for early 2026.
Lee Fixel of Addition emphasized the significance of the launch:
“The CloudX team has consistently delivered innovations that have advanced the mobile industry from programmatic platforms to unified auctions. CloudX is the next leap. By defining what AI-native infrastructure can achieve with transparency, autonomy, and sustainable value, CloudX is charting the course for the future of mobile advertising.”
The platform is designed to empower publishers to operate autonomously, optimize revenue intelligently, and maintain trust with buyers—key differentiators as AI continues to reshape mobile ad supply chains.
Why CloudX Matters
Mobile publishers have long struggled with fragmented, opaque systems that limit yield and control. CloudX introduces a next-generation supply-side platform built from the ground up for AI intelligence, automation, and security. By combining proven industry expertise with cutting-edge technology, the founders of MoPub and MAX aim to redefine mobile advertising for the AI era.
CloudX is positioning itself as the infrastructure layer for intelligent, agent-driven monetization, offering publishers the tools to optimize every impression and transaction in real time—an increasingly critical capability as AI shapes both user experiences and advertiser expectations.
