BIGO Ads SDK Launches on Google AdMob Mediation BIGO Ads SDK Launches on Google AdMob Mediation

BIGO Ads, the advertising platform operated by JOYY Inc. (NASDAQ: JOYY), has made its software development kit (SDK) generally available through Google AdMob Mediation, expanding publishers’ access to another source of advertising demand through in-app bidding.

The integration supports app open, native, rewarded, banner and interstitial advertising formats. BIGO Ads said additional formats are planned, although it did not provide a timeline for their introduction.

The launch gives app developers using Google AdMob Mediation another option for monetizing mobile inventory. Through in-app bidding, participating demand sources can compete for eligible impressions, potentially improving competition for available inventory and giving publishers greater flexibility in managing advertising revenue.

Market Landscape

Mobile app monetization relies on balancing advertising demand, revenue yield and user experience. Mediation platforms help developers manage multiple advertising demand sources, while in-app bidding allows participating buyers to compete through an auction-based process rather than relying exclusively on sequential waterfall arrangements.

BIGO Ads’ availability through AdMob Mediation extends its reach into an established mobile advertising workflow. Developers can access the SDK through their existing mediation setup, subject to the integration and configuration requirements of the platform.

For publishers, the addition of a demand partner can create opportunities to increase competition for impressions across different app categories. BIGO Ads identifies casual and core gaming, alongside non-gaming applications, as areas covered by its expanded inventory.

For advertisers, the integration opens access to a broader pool of participating mobile app inventory for user acquisition campaigns. The potential benefit is greater reach across gaming and other app environments through an additional route to programmatic demand.

However, the announcement does not disclose aggregate spending, auction win rates, advertiser counts or independently verified revenue improvements across the publisher base. The commercial impact will depend on demand density, geographic coverage, app quality and how effectively the additional bidder competes with existing sources.

SDK Integration and Monetization Performance

The integration supports five ad formats: app open, native, rewarded, banner and interstitial. These placements serve different monetization requirements, from ads displayed when an application opens to rewarded video experiences and conventional display inventory.

BIGO Ads said its SDK has been integrated into more than 55,000 apps. The company also identified developers including Minimax, Hungry Studio, Fugo Games, FreePlay, Voodoo and TapNation among its relationships.

Talkie, an AI-powered application, participated in testing the integration. According to a statement attributed to Talkie’s head of monetization and product, the app recorded higher-than-expected eCPMs and fill rates during testing, while average revenue per user (ARPU) generated from BIGO Ads alone increased twofold.

These results are a customer-reported example, not evidence of a typical outcome across the entire publisher network. The announcement does not specify the testing period, baseline performance, sample size, geographic distribution or whether the reported ARPU increase persisted after testing.

Those details matter because monetization performance can vary significantly by audience, format, market and app category. Publishers evaluating the integration should compare realized revenue against existing demand sources while monitoring fill rates, latency, retention and user experience.

Strategic Outlook

The launch strengthens BIGO Ads’ distribution through Google’s mediation ecosystem and gives mobile developers another potential source of demand without requiring them to replace their existing monetization infrastructure.

For BIGO Ads, broader mediation access could help connect advertisers with additional app inventory and support user acquisition across gaming and non-gaming categories. For publishers, the value proposition rests on whether the additional bidder creates meaningful competition and improves net monetization after accounting for operational costs and performance differences.

The announcement also highlights the importance of SDK compatibility and integration simplicity in mobile advertising. However, the companies have not disclosed specific changes to auction mechanics, privacy controls, reporting capabilities or optimization features resulting from the integration.

The next measure of success will be sustained performance across a broader range of publishers. Adoption, competitive bidding, advertiser demand and measurable revenue gains will determine whether the integration delivers benefits beyond the initial testing results.
