Powered by the company’s latest n-type i-TOPCon Ultra (TOPCon 3.0) cell technology, the module delivers up to 760W of power output and 24.5% efficiency, targeting commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar projects seeking higher energy yields and lower system costs.

Trinasolar is strengthening its position in Southeast Asia’s renewable energy market with the commercial launch of its latest Vertex N G3 photovoltaic module in Singapore, where demand for high-efficiency solar technology continues to grow alongside the country’s ambitious clean energy targets.

The new module introduces Trinasolar’s n-type i-TOPCon Ultra (TOPCon 3.0) technology to the local market, offering power output of up to 760 watts and module efficiency reaching 24.5%. The launch comes as Singapore expands rooftop and commercial solar deployment to support its revised national renewable energy goals.

Singapore surpassed 2 gigawatt-peak (GWp) of installed solar capacity in 2025 and has since increased its target to 3GWp by 2030, reflecting the government’s continued investment in distributed renewable energy. With limited land availability, rooftop solar installations across commercial and industrial (C&I) facilities remain central to the country’s solar expansion strategy.

Against this backdrop, manufacturers are increasingly focusing on technologies capable of generating more electricity from limited installation space.

The Vertex N G3 is designed to improve overall photovoltaic system performance by increasing power density and reducing the number of modules required per installation. According to Trinasolar, the module’s optimized voltage-to-current ratio enables higher string power at lower operating voltages, allowing developers to simplify system architecture while potentially reducing balance-of-system (BOS) costs.

The company estimates the technology can lower the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) by approximately 2% to 3% compared with conventional module configurations. Lower BOS costs and improved energy production remain key purchasing considerations for utility developers and commercial building owners seeking to maximize project returns.

One of the module’s distinguishing technical features is its bifacial design, which can achieve up to 85±5% bifaciality. Under favorable site conditions, the rear side of the panel can capture reflected sunlight, increasing total electricity generation by an estimated 10% to 20% depending on installation design, surface reflectivity, and environmental conditions.

Bifacial technology has become increasingly common in utility-scale solar farms as developers seek higher energy yields without significantly increasing project footprints.

The Vertex N G3 has also been engineered for tropical operating environments.

Singapore’s climate presents unique engineering challenges, including consistently high temperatures, humidity, and coastal salinity that can accelerate equipment degradation. Trinasolar says the module incorporates enhanced resistance to humidity and salt corrosion while maintaining a temperature coefficient of -0.26% per degree Celsius, helping preserve energy production during periods of elevated operating temperatures.

Long-term reliability is another area of focus. The company projects annual linear degradation of just 0.35%, supporting more consistent electricity generation throughout the module’s operating lifespan. The product is also expected to receive the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Certificate of Conformity, an important regulatory milestone for local deployment.

Recognizing that rooftop installations often require lighter equipment due to structural constraints, Trinasolar is also introducing a narrower Vertex N G3 variant capable of producing up to 670W, providing greater flexibility for commercial rooftop projects.

The Singapore launch aligns with Trinasolar’s broader expansion strategy across Southeast Asia.

The company recently signed a 600MW memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ecohope Solar covering Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, alongside a separate 200MW distribution agreement with Myanmar-based Shwe Wah Yaung Agriculture Production Company Limited (SWY). These agreements reflect continued investment in regional renewable energy infrastructure as governments accelerate decarbonization initiatives.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), solar photovoltaic technology remains the fastest-growing source of renewable electricity worldwide, while BloombergNEF projects sustained investment in high-efficiency solar modules as developers prioritize technologies that improve project economics and energy output.

For Singapore’s commercial and industrial sector, where rooftop space remains limited and electricity demand continues to rise, higher-efficiency photovoltaic modules such as the Vertex N G3 could play an increasingly important role in supporting future renewable energy deployment while improving the financial viability of solar investments.
