Proximic Integrates Predictive Audiences Into Magnite’s CTV Platform

Comscore’s Proximic advertising intelligence business is expanding its integration with Magnite to bring AI-driven audience targeting and contextual signals directly into SpringServe, Magnite’s video ad-serving platform. The integration is designed to help streaming publishers package connected TV (CTV) inventory for advertisers while supporting audience activation without relying on individual-level advertising identifiers.

The partnership brings together three parts of the CTV advertising workflow: publisher inventory management, audience intelligence and programmatic campaign activation. For publishers, the aim is to make content and viewership signals more useful when creating advertising opportunities. For advertisers and agencies, the integration offers another route to reach relevant audiences across streaming inventory while reducing dependence on conventional user identifiers.

Proximic’s Predictive Audiences combine audience and contextual signals to predict where consumers may be more likely to engage. According to Comscore, the system draws on its datasets and third-party partner network to build audience segments that can be activated without individual-level IDs.

The integration places this intelligence within SpringServe, which combines video ad serving with programmatic capabilities. Rather than treating audience data as a separate planning resource, the arrangement is intended to connect audience selection more closely with how publishers organize and monetize their inventory.

Future Today tests audience-led CTV packaging

Future Today is among the first publishers using Proximic’s Predictive Audiences through the integration. The company is combining its first-party viewership data with contextual signals to package CTV inventory around specific consumer interests.

Examples cited in the announcement include seasonal segments for allergy medicine advertisers and Halloween candy campaigns. These use cases illustrate how publishers could organize inventory around likely consumer needs and relevant viewing contexts, rather than relying exclusively on broad demographic categories.

For a publisher, more granular packaging could make otherwise fragmented inventory easier to present to buyers as a defined advertising opportunity. For agencies, it could simplify access to contextual audience segments across available CTV placements.

Future Today says its preliminary findings indicate potential improvements in precision and scale. Those findings have not been independently verified, and the announcement does not provide campaign-level performance data, a comparison group or specific lift measurements.

Privacy-forward activation without individual IDs

The integration reflects a wider effort across digital advertising to make audience targeting less dependent on persistent identifiers. In CTV, this challenge is complicated by fragmented streaming environments, different publisher data systems and the need to connect campaign planning with available inventory.

Predictive targeting attempts to address this by using data patterns and contextual information to identify inventory likely to reach relevant audiences. In principle, this can give advertisers more flexibility where traditional identity-based targeting is unavailable or unsuitable.

However, ID-free activation does not automatically mean that every part of a data workflow is anonymous or privacy-compliant. The actual privacy implications depend on what data is collected, how audience segments are constructed, what information is shared and which controls govern activation.

For Magnite, the integration adds another audience-intelligence layer to its publisher-facing infrastructure. For Proximic, it creates a more direct path to inventory activation. Whether that translates into incremental advertiser demand will depend on adoption, targeting quality and measurable campaign results.

Market Landscape

CTV advertising is moving toward a model in which publishers can combine content information, audience insights and automated inventory sales to make streaming impressions more addressable. Yet the ecosystem remains fragmented across streaming services, ad servers, data providers and buying platforms.

The IAB Tech Lab’s CTV Programmatic Guide identifies audience targeting, content taxonomy, measurement and brand suitability as important parts of the programmatic CTV workflow. Its guidance also recognizes ID-free targeting and standardized audience classifications as alternatives or complements to identity-based approaches. IAB Tech Lab+1

Against this backdrop, the Proximic–Magnite integration addresses a distribution challenge: audience intelligence is more useful when publishers can apply it within the infrastructure already used to package and sell inventory.

The broader shift is toward connecting data and activation more closely, rather than treating audience segmentation as a separate step before media buying. However, this integration does not eliminate the need for consistent data definitions, measurement standards or independent campaign verification.

Strategic Outlook

  • For CTV publishers: SpringServe integration could simplify the process of packaging inventory into audience-based opportunities and presenting those opportunities to additional buyers.
  • For advertisers and agencies: Predictive Audiences may help identify relevant streaming inventory without requiring conventional individual-level identifiers. Buyers will still need to evaluate reach, frequency, suitability and campaign performance.
  • For DSPs: More readily available contextual and audience signals could improve inventory selection, provided the signals are supported by compatible buying workflows.
  • For data providers: Integrations inside ad-serving platforms offer a distribution route for audience intelligence, potentially making activation easier for publishers.
  • For privacy and measurement: ID-free targeting can reduce reliance on certain identifiers, but it is not equivalent to a comprehensive privacy guarantee. Data provenance, consent, governance and measurement remain important.

The next test is whether the integration delivers measurable incremental demand and campaign value. Future Today’s early feedback is encouraging but preliminary; the announcement provides no independent performance study or quantified lift. Wider adoption will depend on operational simplicity, signal quality and demonstrable results.
