Brkthru’s One Day Sale Targets Q4 and 2027 Media Buying Plans

Brkthru is preparing its sixth annual One Day Sale for September 24, giving agencies and brands an opportunity to finalize Q4 and 2027 digital media commitments ahead of the next planning cycle. The initiative is structured around advance media planning rather than a conventional short-term promotional sale, with buyers developing budgets, campaign strategies and tactics before signing proposals on the designated date.

The company said the program covers digital media buys across more than 25 platforms, with an emphasis on securing inventory and pricing before expected market changes. The offering includes Q4 and 2027 campaigns and can encompass streaming placements and other digital media tactics.

The timing reflects a broader shift toward earlier and more structured media planning as digital advertising becomes increasingly fragmented. According to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), U.S. digital advertising revenue reached $294.6 billion in 2025, up 13.9% year over year. IAB also projects U.S. digital video advertising to surpass $80 billion in 2026, with digital video expected to account for more than 60% of total TV and video ad spending.

For media buyers, that expansion creates both opportunities and planning challenges. Streaming video, connected TV, programmatic media and other digital channels increasingly compete for budgets while inventory, targeting requirements and measurement expectations evolve. IAB’s 2026 outlook forecasts 9.5% growth in overall U.S. advertising spending, with CTV projected to grow 13.8%.

Against that backdrop, Brkthru’s model centers on committing campaign plans earlier. Buyers work with a Brkthru client-success specialist to establish strategy and budgets, followed by a customized proposal detailing campaign specifications, tactics, deliverables and rates. The resulting insertion orders are then signed on September 24.

The approach could be particularly relevant to agencies managing multiple client accounts or advertisers seeking to establish preliminary 2027 allocations before annual budgets are fully deployed. Early commitments may also provide greater visibility into campaign costs and inventory planning, although the value of locking in media depends on how market pricing, audience demand and campaign requirements change over time.

Brkthru describes itself as a digital media partner rather than a traditional advertising agency or trading desk. Its current service offering spans programmatic media, connected TV and streaming video, digital display, paid social, Amazon Advertising, streaming audio, search and digital out-of-home. The company also says it operates a proprietary DSP alongside other platforms and uses a custom bidder with auction-level data for planning and campaign setup.

For publishers and media platforms, advance commitments can provide greater visibility into potential advertiser demand, although the announcement does not disclose expected volume, inventory guarantees or publisher-specific arrangements. For agencies, the model shifts part of the annual buying process forward, potentially reducing last-minute planning pressure while requiring earlier assumptions about client budgets and channel priorities.

The larger strategic question is whether early media commitments remain advantageous as advertising technology changes rapidly. IAB research indicates that AI, signal loss, targeting and measurement are already reshaping how buyers evaluate digital video investments. For advertisers, therefore, the effectiveness of advance buying will depend not only on price but also on flexibility, measurement capabilities and the ability to adjust campaigns as audience and platform conditions change.

Market Landscape

Digital advertising continues to expand, but the market is becoming more complex across programmatic, streaming video, CTV, social and commerce media. IAB reported $78 billion in U.S. digital video revenue for 2025, with video recording the strongest growth among major digital formats.

Strategic Outlook

Brkthru’s One Day Sale highlights the growing importance of advance media planning as agencies and brands prepare larger portions of their digital budgets earlier. The strategic benefit will ultimately depend on balancing early cost and inventory visibility with sufficient flexibility to respond to changing audiences, platforms, technology and measurement standards.
