GOOD TRAFFIC Wins Two OBIE Awards for Spider-Noir Taxi Campaign

GOOD TRAFFIC Wins Two OBIE Awards for Spider-Noir GOOD TRAFFIC Wins Two OBIE Awards for Spider-Noir

Out-of-home (OOH) agency GOOD TRAFFIC has won two Bronze awards at the 84th Annual OBIE Awards for an experiential campaign created with Amazon Prime Video to promote the Spider-Noir series. The activation used three custom-wrapped vintage taxis featuring three-dimensional Spider-Man figures to bring the series’ noir-inspired visual identity onto New York City streets.

The awards were announced at a ceremony on October 15, 2026. GOOD TRAFFIC and Amazon Prime Video received Bronze recognition in the Experiential & Immersive OOH and Entertainment & Media OOH categories. The campaign had also been shortlisted in Production & Build Craft but did not win in that category, according to the announcement.

The OBIE Awards are owned by the Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) and recognize work across the out-of-home advertising industry.

Vintage Taxis Turn Entertainment Promotion Into a Street-Level Experience

Launched in May 2026 alongside the series premiere, the campaign featured three vintage taxis wrapped in artwork inspired by Spider-Noir. Each vehicle was topped with a custom three-dimensional Spider-Man figure, extending the campaign beyond conventional vehicle wraps and into a more immersive street-level installation.

The taxis operated around New York City for seven days, with each vehicle focusing on a target neighborhood. The campaign prioritized high-density, tourist-driven areas where distinctive vehicles could attract attention from pedestrians and visitors.

GOOD TRAFFIC Chief Creative Officer Alberto Mestre said the concept was designed to make audiences feel as though they were encountering the series in real life. The execution combined familiar city transportation with recognizable entertainment imagery, turning the vehicles into mobile promotional assets.

The approach reflects a broader role for experiential out-of-home advertising: translating a film or streaming property’s visual world into a physical encounter that can stand apart from standard billboards and transit placements.

Experiential OOH’s Role in Entertainment Marketing

Entertainment advertisers use OOH to establish visibility around premieres, releases and other audience moments. Mobile activations offer a different set of creative possibilities because they can bring branded assets through multiple locations rather than relying on a single fixed placement.

The Spider-Noir campaign paired mobility with three-dimensional fabrication and location selection. Its creative design gave the activation a physical presence, while the neighborhood strategy concentrated exposure in areas chosen for their density and tourist traffic.

For streaming marketers, such campaigns can complement digital video, social media and other promotional channels by creating a real-world expression of a show’s identity. Agencies can also use experiential formats to develop creative concepts that are more difficult to replicate in conventional media placements.

However, the announcement does not disclose audience impressions, foot traffic, social sharing, viewing uplift or campaign costs. The two awards establish industry recognition for the execution, but they do not independently demonstrate its reach or commercial effectiveness.

Strategic Outlook

The awards highlight experiential OOH as a creative option for entertainment campaigns seeking to connect intellectual property with public spaces. Custom vehicle wraps, sculptural elements and targeted routes can create distinctive brand encounters, although their impact depends on execution quality, placement and the ability to measure results.

For agencies and advertisers, the next challenge is connecting creative recognition with campaign performance. Tracking exposure, audience engagement, earned media and changes in viewing behavior could help establish how mobile experiential activations contribute to wider marketing objectives.

GOOD TRAFFIC described the campaign as evidence of the potential for experiential activations in OOH. Whether similar executions become a larger part of entertainment media plans will depend on their measurable value alongside established advertising channels.
