The deployment addresses a growing challenge for digital advertisers: maintaining reliable attribution and automated bidding performance when consent restrictions limit access to customer journey data. Corvidae reconstructs user journeys from first-party eventstream data using predictive AI, without cookies or persistent identifiers, and feeds the resulting data into advertising bidding systems and business intelligence tools.
According to the companies, the pilot began after RS Group adopted a strict first-party cookie consent model under which users could reject all cookies. The change reduced the journey-level information available to conventional analytics and advertising platforms, including Adobe Analytics, Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
Rather than relying exclusively on platform-generated estimates, RS Group used Corvidae’s reconstructed journey data to inform its bidding algorithms. The integration also sends data to Microsoft Power BI through an API, allowing performance information to flow into the company’s own analytics environment.
Market Landscape: Attribution Beyond Platform Reporting
The deployment highlights the relationship between measurement quality and automated media buying. Search advertising platforms use conversion signals to inform bidding decisions, but incomplete customer journey data can affect how value is assigned across paid and organic channels.
Corvidae says its technology tracked £193 million more revenue than Adobe Analytics across RS Group’s worldwide properties during the same four-month period and covered more than 95% of the active customer base. These figures relate to the broader global tracking comparison, rather than exclusively to the Italian pilot.
The reconstructed journeys were also longer than those reported by existing platforms: 46% longer in the UK and 68% longer across the EU, according to Corvidae. Its analysis found that 58% of all sales involved a paid search ad, while 72% of those sales also included an organic search interaction.
These findings suggest that evaluating paid search in isolation can obscure the role of other customer interactions. However, channel overlap alone does not establish incremental contribution or prove that a particular advertising interaction caused a sale.
Strategic Outlook: Feeding Better Signals Into Bidding
The key technical distinction is that Corvidae does not position journey reconstruction solely as a reporting function. Its system returns reconstructed data to bidding algorithms, with the aim of improving the signals used to allocate advertising budgets.
For enterprise advertisers, this approach could support a shift away from last-click attribution toward broader assessments of channel contribution. It may also help marketing teams connect advertising optimization with internal reporting systems rather than keeping performance data confined to individual platform dashboards.
RS Group’s expansion plans indicate that the company intends to apply the approach beyond Italy. Joshua Bamsey, Senior Manager of Performance Marketing Effectiveness, said the consent-model change accelerated its move away from last-click attribution. Paul Morris, Senior Director of EMEA Performance Marketing and Web eCommerce, described integration with the company’s core systems as a key requirement.
The wider market implication is that privacy-conscious measurement and automated bidding increasingly need to work together. Yet the reported improvements remain company-reported results from a specific deployment, not independent evidence that similar gains will occur across advertisers, industries or regions.
