Ace Hardware is expanding its retail media operation with new measurement, audience, social and commerce-media capabilities as RedVest Media moves deeper into full-funnel advertising.
At its inaugural 2027 Upfront, RedVest Media announced incrementality measurement for offsite campaigns, new-to-brand reporting, an expanded audience library, social amplification, influencer marketing and a new advertising relationship with DoorDash. The retail media network also introduced weather-triggered programmatic campaigns, retailer-facing media and multi-brand seasonal packages.
The announcements reflect a broader shift in retail media from sponsored search and onsite placements toward integrated ecosystems spanning discovery, consideration and purchase. For advertisers, the challenge is increasingly less about gaining access to retail audiences and more about connecting fragmented media activity to measurable commercial outcomes.
RedVest’s expanded measurement offering is particularly notable. Incrementality measurement for offsite media is intended to help brands distinguish media-driven outcomes from sales that would have occurred without advertising. New-to-brand reporting adds another layer by identifying customer acquisition rather than treating every conversion equally.
The network is also launching social amplification, allowing advertisers to extend existing social creative into additional media environments while applying RedVest audience targeting and closed-loop measurement. Through Influential, brands can additionally work with Ace-vetted creators.
Market Landscape
Retail media networks are increasingly competing on more than first-party shopper data. Audience quality, measurement, offsite activation and commerce integrations are becoming critical differentiators as retailers seek to capture a larger share of brand marketing budgets.
RedVest is positioning Ace’s physical footprint and customer relationships as part of that proposition. Ace says its network can draw on more than 80 million Ace Rewards members and over 5,300 stores, giving advertisers both digital audience scale and local-market signals.
The DoorDash partnership extends that ecosystem beyond Ace’s conventional digital and physical properties. Sponsored Ads and Sponsored Brands within the Ace Hardware storefront on DoorDash give brands another opportunity to reach shoppers while they are assembling an order, potentially shortening the distance between advertising exposure and purchase.
Weather-triggered programmatic advertising is another example of retail media becoming more contextual. A home-improvement advertiser can potentially align campaigns with local weather conditions that create immediate demand for particular products or projects.
The competitive challenge is that similar capabilities are appearing throughout retail media. Amazon, Walmart, Target and other major networks have continued expanding offsite media, measurement and audience products. Smaller retail networks therefore need differentiated first-party data, specialized audiences or unique commerce environments to compete.
Strategic Outlook
RedVest’s direction illustrates how retail media is evolving into a broader commerce-media operating layer rather than a collection of sponsored placements.
For advertisers, incrementality and new-to-brand measurement could make retail media easier to evaluate alongside other channels. Social and influencer activation could extend retailer audiences earlier in the purchase journey, while DoorDash creates an additional high-intent commerce touchpoint.
The bigger test will be interoperability. As brands run campaigns across retail networks, social platforms, CTV, programmatic exchanges and commerce environments, advertisers increasingly need comparable measurement rather than another set of network-specific dashboards.
RedVest’s emphasis on home improvement, local relevance and weather-triggered activation gives it a potentially differentiated position. Whether that translates into sustained advertiser adoption will depend on measurement transparency, audience scale and the ability to demonstrate incremental business value.
