Viamedia.ai is expanding its role in addressable television by joining Go Addressable, an industry trade group focused on advancing targeted TV advertising and deterministic identity. The company said the move will support broader access to addressable technology for broadcasters and multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), particularly across inventory that has historically been difficult to target at the household level.
The announcement combines two developments: Viamedia.ai’s participation in the industry organization and its effort to make its addressable TV technology available to additional inventory owners. The company says its technology can help broadcasters and MVPDs target audiences more precisely while creating additional opportunities to monetize linear television inventory.
At the center of the offering is Viamedia.ai’s Parrot Ad Decisioning System (ADS), a platform designed to manage advertising across linear television, connected TV and programmatic environments. The company says Parrot ADS can support ad delivery, campaign extension across screens, reporting and monetization within a unified workflow.
Viamedia.ai also says it holds six patents related to addressable television technology, all connected to the Parrot ADS platform. The patents themselves do not establish adoption or market impact, but they indicate that the company is positioning its technology around the infrastructure required to bring addressable capabilities to additional television inventory.
Addressable TV differs from conventional linear broadcasting because advertising can be selected for specific households or audience segments rather than delivering exactly the same commercial to every viewer receiving a broadcast signal. That creates an opportunity for advertisers to make television buying more targeted while giving inventory owners another way to package and monetize their available ad space.
The development follows Viamedia.ai’s earlier partnership with Hearst Television. According to the company, that collaboration connected Parrot ADS with Hearst’s broadcast infrastructure to enable household-level addressability and support more targeted buying on Hearst television inventory.
Joining Go Addressable gives Viamedia.ai a position within an industry effort focused on expanding awareness and adoption of addressable TV. The company says it will participate in educating buyers about targeted advertising opportunities across cable and broadcast environments.
For broadcasters, the commercial question is whether addressable capabilities can make traditional inventory more competitive with digital video and CTV environments, where audience targeting and measurement have become central to media buying. For advertisers and agencies, the value depends on the scale of addressable inventory, available identity signals, targeting precision and the ability to measure outcomes consistently.
The announcement does not disclose the number of broadcasters or MVPDs expected to adopt the technology, nor does it provide campaign volumes or revenue projections. Its immediate significance is therefore less about demonstrated market scale and more about Viamedia.ai pushing addressable infrastructure into inventory that has not traditionally supported household-level targeting.
Market Landscape
Television advertising is increasingly converging with digital advertising practices. Addressable TV brings audience targeting and data-driven ad decisioning into linear broadcast and MVPD environments, while CTV and programmatic platforms provide comparable capabilities in digitally delivered video.
For broadcasters and MVPDs, the challenge is to introduce these capabilities without disrupting established distribution and advertising workflows. Technology that can connect ad decisioning with existing broadcast infrastructure can potentially make more inventory addressable while preserving the underlying television delivery model.
Strategic Outlook
Viamedia.ai’s Go Addressable membership adds another technology provider to the industry’s effort to expand addressable TV beyond environments where targeting is already established.
The larger opportunity is monetization. If broadcasters can make more inventory addressable, they may be able to offer advertisers greater targeting flexibility and potentially compete more directly for budgets that increasingly favor measurable digital video.
However, adoption will depend on interoperability, identity availability, measurement consistency and the willingness of inventory owners and buyers to modify existing workflows. Addressability alone does not guarantee stronger campaign performance or higher inventory value.
