AI Digital Launches Ellie AI Agent for Cross-Channel Media Planning

AI Digital Launches Ellie AI Media Agent AI Digital Launches Ellie AI Media Agent

AI Digital has launched Ellie, an AI-powered superagent designed to coordinate advertising research, audience strategy, media planning and campaign analytics through a single conversational interface. Integrated into the consultancy’s Elevate marketing intelligence platform, Ellie is intended to help agencies and advertisers move from campaign briefs to media recommendations and ongoing performance analysis without repeatedly transferring information between separate tools.

Unlike a conventional AI assistant that responds to individual prompts, Ellie coordinates specialist agents around a user’s objective. These include capabilities for planning, campaign analytics, competitive analysis, audience discovery and audience personas. The system carries campaign context between tasks, allowing research findings to inform audience selection and media recommendations.

The launch targets a persistent operational problem in digital advertising: campaign information is often distributed across research platforms, planning tools, demand-side platforms (DSPs) and reporting systems. Moving between these environments can create fragmented workflows and require teams to repeatedly reconstruct the reasoning behind media decisions.

AI Digital says Ellie connects campaign context across channels and DSPs where relevant data is available. Its approach is based on the company’s Open Garden framework, which prioritizes campaign performance rather than favoring a particular advertising platform or inventory source.

From Campaign Briefs to Performance Analysis

Ellie’s capabilities cover several stages of the media campaign lifecycle. Users can ask questions about competitors, identify potential audiences, develop personas, generate media plans and examine campaign performance.

The system is also designed to support ongoing campaign monitoring. In an example provided by AI Digital, an agency managing more than 20 campaigns for a multi-location automotive dealership group could ask Ellie to identify campaigns that are over- or under-pacing. The agent can then recommend adjustments and assemble the findings into a client-ready report.

The official product description also outlines forecasting, performance insights and reporting capabilities. However, the information available to Ellie depends on the data connected to Elevate; campaigns outside its reporting environment are not included in its analysis. <Link url=”https://www.aidigital.com/ellie” title=”Ellie’s official product description”/>.

This data dependency is important for agencies evaluating AI-driven media intelligence. A unified conversational interface can reduce manual work, but its usefulness depends on the breadth, consistency and quality of the underlying campaign information.

Human Approval Remains Part of Campaign Activation

AI Digital is drawing a distinction between automating media intelligence and handing campaign execution to an autonomous agent.

Ellie generates plans, recommendations and analytical outputs, but it does not independently launch campaigns or make changes to live advertising activity. Users submit its outputs through Elevate, after which AI Digital’s managed-service team activates campaigns following human review.

That approach places Ellie closer to an AI-powered planning and decision-support layer than a fully autonomous media-buying system.

The distinction matters as advertising companies introduce agentic AI into workflows involving budgets, targeting and campaign optimization. Recommendations can be generated quickly, but changes to live campaigns still carry financial and operational consequences. Human approval provides an additional control point before those recommendations become execution decisions.

A Vendor-Neutral Positioning

CEO and founder Stephen Magli says AI Digital’s independence from media inventory ownership is central to its Open Garden positioning. The company argues that this structure allows Ellie to recommend channels based on performance rather than commercial incentives tied to selling particular inventory.

Elevate was previously relaunched as an intelligence platform combining research, planning, optimization and reporting across digital advertising channels. Its existing positioning emphasizes cross-channel data and DSP-agnostic media intelligence. <Cite refs={[“turn424540search1”]}/>

Ellie extends that platform strategy with an agent-orchestration interface that connects these functions through a continuing conversation.

The product is available to AI Digital clients through Elevate at no additional platform cost, subject to partnership commitments. Prospective clients can request trial access. The company also introduced Ellie to early-access clients through its AI Innovation Center, which opened in Miami’s Design District on October 29, 2026.

Strategic Outlook

Ellie’s launch reflects a shift in advertising technology from isolated AI assistants toward systems that coordinate multiple specialized capabilities across media workflows.

For agencies, the potential value lies in reducing time spent on research, reporting and campaign analysis while giving strategists a more connected view of performance. For advertisers, the proposition is a planning process that can draw on information across channels rather than treating each platform as a separate decision environment.

The key test will be whether Ellie can consistently produce useful recommendations from connected campaign data and improve decision-making without obscuring the assumptions behind its outputs. Its current human-reviewed activation model also means that the platform is not yet a fully autonomous media execution system.

As agentic AI moves deeper into advertising operations, the distinction between generating recommendations and controlling live campaigns will remain important for agencies assessing governance, accountability and performance.
