Universal Ads Brings Creator-Led Streaming Inventory to TV

Creator advertising is increasingly moving beyond social feeds and into connected television. Universal Ads is expanding access to creator-led streaming inventory, giving advertisers a way to place campaigns alongside creator-produced programming and channels through its self-service advertising platform. The move connects creator-driven media strategies with the premium video inventory of streaming TV.

Creators have become an important part of how audiences discover products, entertainment and brands online. The next challenge for advertisers is extending that influence beyond social platforms without abandoning the scale and premium viewing environment offered by television.

Universal Ads is addressing that shift by expanding its access to creator-led streaming inventory, allowing advertisers to buy campaigns alongside programming produced or hosted by creators across connected-TV and premium streaming environments.

The company said the new inventory includes creator-led channels such as BIZARRE, Creator TV, The Design Network, MeatEater and Tastemade, as well as programming featuring creators including Trey Kennedy, King Bach, Kylie Katich, Wengie and Daphnique Springs.

The development reflects a broader convergence between creator advertising, connected TV (CTV) and streaming media buying. For advertisers, creator-led content can provide a different environment from conventional television programming while still offering access to the large-screen viewing experience associated with streaming TV.

Universal Ads’ proposition is built around simplifying that transition. Its platform allows advertisers to create, buy and measure premium video campaigns through a single self-service interface. The company says the expanded inventory gives brands the ability to incorporate creator-driven content environments without managing separate workflows for different media channels.

That distinction is important for smaller advertisers and brands without large television-buying teams. Historically, TV advertising has involved complex planning, buying and measurement processes that can make the channel difficult for smaller businesses to access. Self-service CTV platforms have sought to reduce that barrier by bringing television-style inventory into digital advertising workflows.

Universal Ads is also extending creator activity into the creative-production side of the equation. Earlier this year, the company introduced Creator Studio, Powered by Insense, a managed-service program designed to help advertisers work with creators to produce television-ready video advertising for premium streaming campaigns.

The two initiatives address different parts of the creator-TV equation. Creator Studio focuses on producing creator-led advertising creative, while the newly expanded inventory provides additional environments in which advertisers can distribute campaigns.

For media buyers, this creates an opportunity to treat creators as both a creative resource and a content environment. A brand could work with a creator to develop an advertisement specifically for television, or place its existing campaign alongside creator-produced programming.

The strategy comes as advertising budgets continue shifting toward streaming video. The company cited projections that U.S. creator advertising spending will reach $43.9 billion in 2026, with spending beyond social content increasing 56%. Those figures point to a creator economy that increasingly extends across media formats rather than remaining confined to social networks.

The competitive landscape is becoming more crowded. Google, Amazon, Roku, The Trade Desk and other CTV advertising platforms are building tools around streaming inventory, audience targeting, measurement and automated buying. At the same time, social platforms and creator marketplaces continue developing ways to connect creators with advertisers.

Universal Ads’ differentiation is therefore less about simply offering creator content and more about bringing creator-led streaming inventory into a workflow designed to make premium video buying accessible through a single platform.

For advertisers, the key consideration will be measurement. As creator-led campaigns move onto television screens, marketers will need to understand whether creator adjacency and creator-produced advertising generate incremental reach, engagement and conversions compared with conventional streaming inventory.

Market Landscape

CTV has become a major bridge between traditional television and digital advertising. Streaming services offer advertisers access to premium video environments while retaining digital capabilities such as audience targeting, automated buying and campaign measurement.

Creator-led inventory adds another layer to that market. Creator programming can offer advertisers access to established audiences and distinctive content environments, while creators increasingly operate across YouTube, social platforms, FAST channels and streaming services.

The convergence creates opportunities but also introduces measurement challenges. Advertisers need consistent reporting across social, CTV and other digital channels to determine whether creator-led television exposure is producing incremental value.

Platforms such as Google, Amazon and The Trade Desk are competing to make CTV buying more automated and measurable. Universal Ads is approaching the market through creator-led inventory and a self-service buying experience, positioning creator content as another component of premium streaming media.
